Aufgabenstellung
Als Ersatz für das wegen der Covid-Pandemie abgesagte jährliche Treffen zwischen zwei alte Freunde wurde eine Geburtstagskarte entworfen. In deren Beziehung spielen zwei Länder und eine deutsche Stadt eine wichtige Rolle: Griechenland das Urlaubsland für Einen, die Niederlande das neue Heimat für den Anderen und Bremen - die Heimatstadt für beiden.
Für diese verschiedene Örtlichkeiten fand ich Gemeinsamkeiten die ich konzeptionell in einem Layout vereinigte: die Farbe Blau und die geometrischen Formen. Als nächstes trennte ich visuell die Karte, nach den jeweiligen Symbole: oben die Griechischen, unten die Niederländische und in der Mitte platzierte ich den Glückwunsch, den Gin Tonic und die Stadtmusikanten.

Task
As a replacement for the yearly meet up between two old friends that cannot take place because of the Covid pandemic I drafted a special birthday card. Two countries and a german city play an important role in this relationship: Greece is the holiday destination for one, the Netherlands the new home for the other and Bremen - their both home town.
For these different locations I found cliché similarities that I conceptually combined in one layout: the color blue and the geometric shapes. Than I visually separated the card according to the typical symbols, from top to bottom also accordingly to the greeting text "Dear Torsten, all greek gods congratulate you, and some dutch ones also.": from the greek to the Dutch Symbols and in between the most mutual for both friends – the Gin Tonic and the statue of the Town Musicians of Bremen.
